COVID-19- update on red flag and urgent imaging referrals
Some red flag and urgent imaging requests that had been temporarily suspended will now be appointed subject to the patient agreeing to accept the appointment.
GPs should revert to sending all referrals to the BHSCT hospital sites.
The only exception to this rule is the walk-in GP service for plain film imaging. In order to reduce the number of service users attending our sites for plain film imaging and to help us adhere to social distancing, we request that patients present to the department at RVH or MPH only with their red flag or urgent plain film referral request form.
For routine requests for plain film imaging please forward these by post to RVH or MPH hospital sites. On validation, these referrals will be allocated an appointment and patients will be contacted by post.
Please confirm with your patient that they are willing to attend for this examination prior to referral.
